When Sharon and I became Micro Scooter Ambassadors last year, we tested out the Adult Micro Classic Scooter as part of our role. Scooting shouldn’t be just for children, and Micro Scooter have made that possible. Sharon uses hers to not only finish off the rest of her commute to work after a short bus journey during the week, but she also takes it out on weekends when we go out for long walks, or if she needs to pop to the shop. Sharon absolutely adores the scooter and it’s brilliant exercise too!
Even though T had a balance bike, very quickly did he want to give mama’s scooter a go – seeing as she was having so much fun on it – however it was obviously way too big. So temporarily we got him his own scooter to keep up, however the one we got just wasn’t good enough so we remained with the one scooter. The winter soon came round anyway, which meant it was time to hang up the handlebars for another season.
This year, the folks at Micro Scooter released their new range of scooters and invited us, well, T, to try out their new Mini Micro Deluxe Scooter with added LED Lights. Which was perfect timing as Sharon has recently started scooting again (although this was put on hold for a few weeks due to the snow!).
Mini micro Deluxe led Scooter
The Mini Micro Deluxe Scooter is a redesign of the classic Micro Scooter, improving all the features to make it the ultimate ride.
The Deluxe version now has an adjustable handlebar, allowing the scooter to grow with the rider. It also features an anti slip silicone footplate, an anodised stem, and improved rear braking.
- Designed for children from 80cm-110cm high
- Tilt and lean steering
- Removable handlebar for easy storage & transportation.
- Swiss Design and Engineering.
- Comes in a choice of colours.
Another improvement, although clearly for the purpose of style, is the addition of built-in LED lights on the front wheels – making this the ultimate ride for pre-schoolers.
When Sharon isn’t wondering when she can buy LED wheels for her scooter, she’s racing T along various paths. I really can’t wait to see these lights in action in the dark once T gets more confident and the nights get darker.
Out and About
We’ve already taken the scooter out for a few rides, and I can immediately tell that T is more comfortable with this scooter. The handlebar is a comfortable hold and adjusts to his size perfectly. The frame is sturdy and strong enough to support any wobbles or uneven ground.
The footplate is generous in size, as is the brake plate, and the scooter boasts a ‘lean to steer’ mechanism to make travelling smooth and comfortable for the rider.
Today I built (I say ‘built’, I simply put the neck and the footplate together) T’s new LED Mini #MicroScooter ready for his first official* ride this weekend. I can’t wait to watch him practise ready for when we have to do the school run in the not so distant future. Plus, watching him scoot side by side with Mama’s adult @microscooters is going to be awesome. . . . . *I’m not counting the little scoots he’s had in the kitchen (check out our instastories to see how he got on).
I’m really excited to see the Mini Micro Deluxe grow with T, especially when his confidence grows. Plus, T is starting school next year, so this will no doubt be a useful (and healthy) addition to the school run.
We were sent The Mini Micro Deluxe Scooter with LED Lights for the purpose of an honest review, however all thoughts, opinions, and images are our own.
