Bedroom Redesign on a Budget. How a Few Simple Changes Can Transform Your Room!

*This is a Collaborative Post*
Could your bedroom use a little TLC? It’s almost ironic that the place we retreat to at the end of a busy day, where we try to refresh and recharge and where we spend time with our partners, is often the most neglected when it comes to comfort and style.
Tired old bedding, a creaky bed complete with a lumpy mattress, dusty shelves groaning with the weight of all the clutter? Or have you got piles of clean laundry, piles of dirty laundry, old mugs, makeup and toiletries?… hardly a sanctuary away from the rest of the world!
As an adult, you must have somewhere to reset and relax. Somewhere you can truly switch off from the world and focus on yourself. And a clean, well-thought-out bedroom ticks all the boxes. Thankfully, you don’t need to spend a small fortune on updating your tired old bedroom. Here we’ll look at how you can redesign your bedroom on a budget.
The lighting
Harsh overhead lighting and dusty old lampshades are a thing of the past. Good lighting should complement your bedroom, create a soft, ambient glow and not trigger headaches or migraines. This is why more people than ever are switching to LED lights. LED lights for your bedroom are a perfect choice, why? Because they come in a wide variety of styles and designs, they have dimmable features (perfect for creating a romantic atmosphere) and they’re cheaper to run than traditional energy-saving bulbs.
As well as installing LED lights, you have fairy lights and even LED candles that are warm, soft touches that can instantly make any room welcoming and relaxing. Place them around your bed, on your side table or your shelves and surfaces.
Add something fresh
Have you discovered the joy of house plants yet? Having fresh and lush houseplants in your bedroom can incredibly improve the quality of your sleep. Many houseplants have air-purifying qualities which makes them the perfect bedroom redesign addition. The more fresh air you have around you, the less stressed and anxious you may feel.

Update your bedding
If you’re not much of a decorator or designer, then don’t panic. Often, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Like when you change your bedsheets! Everyone loves that feeling of getting into freshly laundered sheets. But if your bed linen has seen better days, then why not update them?
If you’re hoping to add a splash of colour to your bland bedroom then go for something brightly coloured and make your bed the focal point of the room. Or if you’re looking for elegance and luxury, consider changing to crisp, white sheets – think 5* hotel!
Rethink your storage
Clutter in the bedroom should be kept to a minimum as having a clean and tidy room helps to relieve stress and adheres to the rest and relaxation theme you’re going for. If you’re struggling with all your stuff you may want to rethink your storage options.
Fabric storage bins and boxes, shoe boxes, drawer dividers and makeup and jewellery holders…whatever it is that’s cluttering up your room, find a storage solution!
