Our nephew just turned two as well, it’s so hard to live a 6 hour plane flight away from his family! On another note, I am decidedly jealous of all the moms in countries with extended parental leave laws. I vaguely wish we had moved to Canada when I got pregnant! 12 weeks is just not enough.

lesbemums says:

12 weeks?! Gosh. Im sorry. Ours is 6 weeks at 90% pay and then statutory maternity pay at 33 weeks after that. We can have up to a year but after the 33 weeks ita at our own expense.

Time really does fly! Our family only live down the road but with work and everything, everything flies by!

My girl turns 2 in a couple months, and the way the time has slipped through my fingers is jaw-dropping! Your nephew is super cute!

You look amazing, by the way!

lesbemums says:

Thank you – hes gorgeous, and even more so now that he has a lovely little voice (my sister may not think so. Lol).

And thank you, again. The shirt sort of hides the bump but im happier that i dont look like a whale. Lol.

You look amazing! And a year of maternity leave?! That’s awesome. I went back after 6 weeks, my sister will have to go back after 2 days because she has 3 other kids to take care of. Man, I don’t know what I would do with a year of maternity leave! Just astonishes me. Anyway, its exciting that the baby is almost here, can’t wait!

lesbemums says:

Thanks hun *blushes*

I probably would be going back after 6 weeks if we hadnt saved for years, the pay offered really doesnt always give women the choice.

I still have no idea how long i should have and just went with the year. I imagine a year will fly by – im just worried it will fly and i still wont know a scooby about looking after a child. Lol. Im sure after a few weeks it’ll be fine and ill crave the outside world.

We’re so excited! Cant wait.

Rachael says:

Super good you saved money! We were never good at saving money. LOL. But, it does give you a great amount of time to bond with your baby! Of course, I was not one that could stay home with the baby anyway, I needed to be out and about. But, I’m so excited for you!

You look GREAT!!! Glad you had fun at your holiday party. Callie and I always say that we aren’t going to spend much but we always over do it…this year though, no exceptions! We have twins on the way! We can’t spend money frivolously! And we have our 6 year old foster daughter MAry to shop for, so that’s new for us too…and besdies, what better Christmas gift than out 2 boys right?! I can’t believe you’re almost there too…our babies will be here before we know it!

lesbemums says:

Thank you!

Precisely. I know S overspends because shes a sweetie but this year im being really strict and thats just with one on the way – Christmas would be cancelled if two were on the way. Lol.
Itll be lovely for you guys to have a full house this year – really special.

Cant wait for your arrivals, it feels so soon! Every update i see i think; “this is it!!!”
