Around this time of year, Sharon and I will start thinking about Christmas and any prep that comes with it. Thankfully, I married a woman who is good at adding bits to her shopping basket throughout the year or spotting online deals, so when it comes to buying presents we have most of what we need already.
This year, however, has understandably been a bit different. Whereas before we would have had most of our shopping done, financial changes following COVID has meant we’ve had to leave it a bit late (in our eyes, anyway!) this year.
With this in mind, we’ve decided that rather than visiting a number of shops online that we’ll try and stick to the one shop this Christmas. This is where Boots has come in VERY handy!
I remember shopping in Boots at Christmas with my sister. Our mum would give us £20 and we would scour Boots for the best deals. Even back then, we’d get some bang for our buck. Whether it was a mix & match deal on some toiletries or a gift experience, our options were always open.
This year, we were invited to spend £100 to see what we could find online, which was harder than you think when there’s so many gifts to choose from!
Gift Sets
I remember as a child getting Christmas gift sets from my Nan. They just felt like something so luxurious. There was often heaps of things inside and I often made them last a while because they were “special”. I’ll never forget those memories.
These days, gift sets are more than smellies and after-shave kits. They’re hot chocolate sets, lunch kits and ornament making. If you have a hobby or a love (or someone you love does) you’ll be able to find something at Boots this Christmas.
Here are a few of our favourites from this year’s offerings:
Over £30
Our first selection is the Sanctuary Spa Celebration Hamper Gift Set which is a luxurious selection of goodies to relax and unwind with. The set includes:
- Body Wash 250ml
- Foaming Bath Soak 75ml
- Body Scrub 200ml
- Salt Scrub 60g
- Ultra Rich Wet Skin Moisture Miracle 50ml
- White Lily & Damask Rose Body Butter 100ml
- Heel Balm 75ml
- Hand Cream 75ml
- Body Puff
This was absolutely the gift that kept on giving and it smells absolutely divine. An excellent choice from the “Gifts for her” section!
Another fabulous find is the Yankee Candle Winter Bundle Gift Set (£25). Perfect for settling down of an evening or making Christmas Day that bit more festive. The set includes:
- 1 x medium jar candle (Angel’s Wings),
- 1 x small jar candle (Red Apple Wreath),
- 1 x small jar candle(Glittering Star),
- 3 x votives candles (All is Bright, Christmas Magic, Snow in Love)
- 12 x tea lights (All is Bright).
There really is nothing like Yankee Candle. Their candles seem to last forever, and when it eventually finishes you can often use the jar for something else!
Under £20
As mentioned, gift sets don’t always have to be about pampering, they can also be useful for more practical items! This Champneys Eco Lunch Kit (£12.50) is an excellent find to start the New Year off. As well as the recyclable lunchbox and spork, the kit comes with 10 x Champneys Health Spa recipes for breakfasts & lunches.
Alongside this, I also chose the Champneys Drink Me Daily Water bottle (£10) which is a gorgeous glass water bottle in a silicone sleeve.

Christmas Gift sets also don’t have to be “main” gifts, they can also be stocking fillers as well.
This gorgeous Burts Bees Honey Pot (£7.49) is a great filler gift, and the glass honey jar can be re-used for trinkets, candles or makeup brushes.
Even if you’re not in the office this year, you very well may be partaking in a Secret Santa or two. A few of our neighbours have become friends this year too, and for one of our neighbours we’re grabbing a few picks from the “Gifts for Him” section.
With this, why not grab this lovely Kimm & Miller Hot Chocolate Stirrer set (£4.00) as a tasty treat for a friend or colleague.
Don’t Forget!
Boots still have their famous 3 for 2 range on lots of Christmas gifts, which means you’ll be able to find a variety of gifts for even the fussiest of friends. Spreading the festive cheers has never been made this easy, with lots of bargains to be had online and in-store.
