Great post. I’m so sorry you’re going through this as a community, it makes me so cross. I honestly don’t know what my girls are taught at school about marriage and families but they know that a family is made up of people who love and respect each other, whether that be one mum and one dad, two mums, two dads, two people without children or any other family unit. Love and respect is the important thing and nothing else matters. I do hope that school will reinforce those facts.

I am now 70 years old and grew up with a family where my father came out as bisexual after he had been married for 7 years ( I came along after 9 years ) I had a brother who was 4 years older than me. My father worked in education and, in a time when homosexuality was a taboo subject, had to live a lie. My parents spent 65 years together and were devoted to each other. I had a good loving family and am glad now that things are more out in the open.
The love of a family, however it is made up, is paramount.
