The Person Behind the Parent {Naomi: Tattooed Mummy}
Another month, another wonderful blogger to feature as part of my ‘Person behind the Parent’ feature! If you’ve followed this feature for a while you’ll know it’s about celebrating the people we are behind the parent. We’re often forgotten along the parenting journey!
Last month, we spoke to Lisa from Mummascribbles who confessed that her husband doesn’t like Toad in the Hole! This month, we’re chatting to Naomi from Tattooed Mummy.
Please introduce yourself…
Hi I’m Tattooed Mummy. I haven’t always been tattooed or a mummy of course, But online I’ve been that so long I now answer to it. I’m 51, have been with my husband since I was 20. We have a teenage daughter and a puppy. While our daughter is our first (and only) the puppy is our third border terrier. I tweet a lot and love the online community, my husband is not so keen and at his request he features very rarely on my blog. You’ll just have to believe me when I say he’s real. I blog semi-anonymously, but my first name is Naomi.
Where can we find you?
I’m choosing to assume you mean online and are not planning a trip to my house. I blog at Tattooed Mummy and have a separate camping and festival blog at www.tentsandfestivals.co.uk (greedy!) I am on twitter for this blog and my tent sniffing blog and both blogs have Facebook pages.
I’ll start with some easy ones…
What’s your favourite film?
Ugh! Having to narrow it to one is really hard. I have so many films that I love enough to rewatch. I’ll go with Bladerunner. Classic!
What’s your favourite book?
The Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Do you have any hobbies?
Does tweeting count? or camping, yes camping I love that.
Tell us one guilty pleasure.
I refuse to feel guilty about pleasures, but one that others might find weird? I like to read comics, 2000AD started it, and now I’m really into Deadpool, sparked by my love of the movie. Yes! Another comic book reader.
Tell us something quirky about yourself.
I like to dress up a lot (yes both in the bedroom and out of it) It’s one reason I love festivals so much, chance to be silly.
Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I used to own and breed fancy mice.
One word to describe yourself would be…
Nice. Agreed!
Now some harder ones…
Children aside, what has been your proudest moment?
I’m too modest to answer this (also I genuinely struggled to be proud about anything)
Children aside, what has been your biggest achievement?
If you could be one person for the day who would it be?
Someone very rich, then I could give away most of their money to good causes and put a bit into my own bank account so I could retire.
If you could travel to one place in the whole world where would you go?
Cuba, I have been to a lot of places on my ‘bucket list’ . But Cuba looks lovely.
To swim
Just do it
Where is your happy place?
My tent

Great interview, lovely to learn more about Naomi. I hope you manage to learn to swim soon, it is a wonderful thing swimming outdoors.
