The Person Behind the Parent {Leanne: A Slice of my Life in Wales}
Another month, another blogger to chat to as part of my ‘Person Behind the Parent’ feature.
Last month, we spoke to Talya from Motherhood: The Real Deal, who told us about some of the amazing places they hope to travel to. I was exceedingly jealous of their life in Singapore.
This month, we chat to Leanne from A Slice of my Life in Wales.
Hello! I’m Leanne, I am a thirty something mother based in the South Wales Valleys, I blog over at A Slice of My Life Wales. I write about most things on my blog including parenting wins and woes, family travel, home interiors and much, much more. I have an almost two year old daughter who is very beautiful, but also very trying! I’m a crazy cat lady and who enjoys regular cwtches with my two cats, Kitty and Earl Grey. I also have a grumpy husband, but he doesn’t feature on the blog very often!
I’ll start with some easy ones…
Chocolate!
Grease.
The Notebook.
Blogging and photography.
Alcohol. I love going and out unwinding with a drink or ten, but most of all I love the excuse of not being able to get up to deal with Aria when she undoubtedly wakes in the night because I’m drunk!
I talk to myself, a lot. I find that things make so much sense when you say them out loud so am often heard muttering away to myself when working.
I can’t drive. At the grand old age of… 31 (I had to think about that then, working out how old I was when Aria was born and counting up!) I still don’t have a driving license. I just have a provisional that expired several years ago. I started lessons and then Spencer and I decided to buy a house, and that was that, the lessons came to an end as we simply had other financial priorities.
Now some harder ones…
The realisation that I was in a position to be able to work for myself and do what I loved. That’s fantastic!
My blog. I have built my blog up from scratch myself and it has given me so much over the years. It has helped me get over anxiety and build up confidence, it has motivated me to improve my photography and it has now become my dream job.
I would love to meet my nan who passed away when I was younger, just to fill her in on everything that has happened since she went, and to let her know that she now has a total of five great grandchildren!
In bed, sleeping.
I would love to be my daughter for a day, she doesn’t communicate very well yet so it would be amazing to step inside her head one day and find out what is really going on in there when she is whinging and moaning. I love this idea!
I’m not really massive on travel to be honest. It would likely be Scotland, I’ve never been to Scotland and have always wanted to go.
Baby language.
If I know what to tell myself, surely I don’t need to tell myself?
The local park. It is so pretty and peaceful I always feel calm and relaxed when I’m there.
Love, laugh, live. If you do those three things everyday your life will be a lot healthier and happier.
