Following the popularity of the hit TV show Super Wings, which features a fun-loving jet plane called Jett who delivers packages to children around the world, Super Wings are now celebrating the launch of their brand new magazine.
In this animated series, Jett teams up with other Super Wings, a group of planes that can also transform into robots! Each episode tackles a new challenges, and encourages viewers to work through a variety of issues – teaching problem solving skills along the way.
The show is bright and colourful, but what’s more important for us is how the show details the importance of cultural diversity. This month, we were invited to review the magazine, as well as a selection of other toys currently available. You can purchase the toys from Smyths Toys.
It’s fly time!
To celebrate the release, T was sent a variety of toys to play. This included:
- A Chase transforming vehicle
- A Jett transforming vehicle
- A collection of mini-figures
- A Sparky & Zoey rescue team set
- A copy of their brand new magazine
Super Wings magazine
Each magazine comes packed full of puzzles, games and colouring in opportunities, as well as a pull-out poster and a toy to play with. We don’t often buy many magazines, as a lot of the toys that come with magazines are cheap and nasty, and rack up the price of the magazine, but I was pretty pleased with this and, so far, it’s still going strong!
Chase & Jett transforming vehicles
T has recently just mastered toys that transform, so this was a welcome addition to his collection. I find it just gives a toy that something extra to add to the game.
Whilst you’re not looking at an intricate set of moves like other ‘Transformer’ toys – you’re probably looking at around six steps instead of 20 – the transformation of the toy still means that it feels like a brand new toy. Put it with toys from the collection and you’re looking at a whole new game.
A Sparky & Zoey rescue team set
Being the biggest (and the loudest!) of all the toys T received to review, this was obviously one that he plays with the most. In the box you will find:
- Zoey the ambulance and Sparky the fire truck
- Lights and sounds
- Ladder that extends over 18″
- 360 degree ladder
- Detachable accessories
- Push to release door to launch Zoey
- Batteries required: 4× AAA (included)
The only negative thing about this toy is that the sound is very loud, so much so that we’ve had to put tape over the speaker to soften the sound. Aside from that though, there’s a nice variety of phrases, and the accessories that come with the track make for interesting play.
We’ve really enjoyed watching T play with a couple of toys from a show he likes to watch. It means that with every episode he watches he can continue the play afterwards.

Disclosure: We received a selection of Super Wings toys for the purpose of an honest review, however all thoughts, opinions, and imagery are our own unless stated otherwise.
