Days Out: The Sussex Pregnancy & Family Baby Show 2015: Our Favourite Stalls

On Sunday 31st May, me and S (and of course T) were invited to attend the Sussex Pregnancy & Family Baby Show at Brighton Racecourse – you can read about our visit in our previous post.

There were so many lovely stalls at this year’s show that it’s hard to compile a list, but here are the ones that stuck out for us…

Oloves

Olove make cute little snack packets of olives, perfect for lunches, especially as the salt content in these packets are a lot lower in comparison to other brands. S really loves Olives… I mean, she’s obsessed. So when she saw the guys from Oloves she couldn’t resist trying all the flavours and subsequently buying a box.

My Little Duckling

These guys make adorable aviator hats, often modelled by Ted, Al’s son from The Dad Network. The hats come in a range of colours and fabrics depending on your style and the season. They are so unique, I just wish they made them adult size!

We fell in love with the hats a while ago when we saw them at a baby show but we never had a head to model them. T doesn’t quite fit them just yet but it didn’t stop us getting one. This stall actually turned out to open a new door for us, but more on this later.

MollyCoddle Childrenswear

These guys sold beautiful, quirky, and unique clothing. I was so tempted to buy one of everything, but I wasn’t allowed. I particularly liked the RAF themed sleep suit! If we’d had a girl, this is the sort of clothing we’d put her in as it’s nothing too ‘girly’ and pink.

Water Babies

These guys deal with water confidence/swimming lessons to babies and toddlers. They also do beautiful underwater photoshoots at the end of each ‘term’, which got me interested hook, line, and sinker. I’d already heard lots about them, so when I found that they have sessions all around Sussex and found they’ll be local to us I had to enquire. I really want to get T swimming in the water early.

Growing Needs

Retailers of brands such as Frugi, Toby Tiger, Kite, Jelly Bae, and Maxomorra – we were in heaven. They also sold gorgeous eco-toys.

These guys also do clothes parties, which I thought was a clever and a new idea, as well as offer ventures for WAHM (work at home mums).

Sing and Sign

When we saw this we assumed it was about teaching children sign language, but it’s actually a different type where babies simply learn to communicate with you at an earlier stage through the method of sign (but not actual sign language; at a more basic level). I really liked knowing that rather than baby screaming to communicate what they want, or what’s wrong, they can communicate this way. We’ll definitely be looking into this when T’s a little older.

Nurtures

Oh my gosh; I wanted to buy everything from these guys. They sold gorgeous wooden toys and ‘old school’ games and puzzles.

Usborne Books

We can’t go to a baby show without buying something from Usborne. They’ve been around for decades, even I remember having Usborne books! Here we bought a collection of ‘Black, White, and Red’ books for T’s development.

As I said, there were so many wonderful stalls at the show that it was really hard to compile a proper list but I think I got it.
