Oh poor little guy! My daughter had a rough couple months of that too. Two things that helped were biogaia baby probiotic drops (they take a couple weeks to really notice a difference, but they do really make a difference. Infacol and any other trick we tried was more of a bandaid effect. The second thing was the “colic massage”, basically massaging the air all the way out, I got a kick out of how much wind I could help my DD release. Good luck! The gas will pass!

I found that if I did the colic massage at least 3 times per day, spaced out throughout the day, that the gas wouldn’t have a chance to build up and cause painful evenings like they did before.

The other thing (sorry, I’m just remembering in small flashes) with breastfeeding I found helped us was trying to get DD to be as upright as possible when feeding, and taking her off the boob several times during a feed to burp asking the way, rather than only burping at the end.

Thank you for all the advice – it’s really appreciated.

I’ll get the wife to have a look at those drops, and I’ll look into the colic massage. Re the positions, there’s definitely a reoccurring pattern with them as in they always seem to be lying down or on their side! I’ll definitely have a look at changing positions.

Hopefully as his gut, etc. develops it won’t be as bad. I agree with the Infacol, which is one of the reasons why I wasn’t sure to use it – it just breaks up the gas as apposed to teaching the body how to deal with the gas.

      Thank you again. Xx

Oh good! I hope these help you as much as they did us! It sounds like they should! Xx

I remember when the boys were having a hard time wth gas. I know the only thing that worked for them was giving them Gripe Water. You just use a small syringe and few drops. They can have it like 3 times all about a half hour apart. We would give it to them before a feed and then half way through, burp, and then the rest of it…we would bicycle their legs and they sure would let them rip!!! Hope it gets better for little T (and for the both of you!)

We used a powder probiotic that we mix with breast milk and it helped a lot. Also the upright feeding but that is hard! Mainly just try to make sure his head is above his belly. We also use these drops: http://www.mamarosesnaturals.com/product.asp?SKU=181195000911

Gas is hard. Our Gus is always gassy and has been. Luckily, now that he is moving more it is a little better. We found that when he gets really gassy it helps if we put him in “poop position” which involves holding him upright and then pushing down so he is squatting. That and being on his belly helps – sometimes if we just hold him on his belly with our hand putting pressure on his stomach he can work some things out.

I cut dairy, brassicas, and beans out of my diet for about 4 months. Every time I had some we had a night of waking every 45 minutes to painful screaming.
